Weekend Viewing – ALO

We got an advance copy of California-based band ALO’s new album, and it’s been the perfect soundtrack to these frigid winter days. Even before you put the disc in, you know you’re in for a warm and cozy treat. The band is signed to Jack Johnson’s Brushfire Records, and the singer-songwriter co-produced the new album, entitled “Man of the World.” His signature is all over the band’s acoustic jams and slow-burning grooves, which give a nod to classic rock, folk and even an island steel drum here and there. It’s music that’s soothing and soulful; the kind of tunes that marinate in your mind for days and leave you feeling just a little happier that you’ve had the pleasure of that listening experience.

Check out a short video about the band below and head over to alomusic.com for more information on the new album and the band’s upcoming tour.
