The latest cinematic offering from Kris Van Asche and Dior Homme reinforces the mandate for Fall/Winter 2011: fluidity and minimalism. Entitled “The Wanderer,” the two minute short film was shot by fashion photographer Willy Vanderperre and stars model Victor Nylander sporting pieces from Dior’s Fall/Winter 2011 collection for men. Set in a small rural town, the film references the pastoral and evangelical elements in the collection. The standout pieces were most definitely the quasi-Amish wide brimmed hats, the flowing, almost robe-like coats, and of course, the impeccably tailored suits. “The Wanderer” transports us to sprawling fields of wheat, and the eerie, isolated farming towns of the American Midwest.
