We got an early Christmas present in the mail the other day when this beautiful coffee table book by renowned portrait and landscape photographer Alec Soth arrived on our doorstep. Titled “O Christmas Tree,” the book is a tree typology-of-sorts, photographed by Soth in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota. With the impending holidays as a loose theme, Soth found 20 unique “Christmas” trees in 20 surprising locations, ranging from a church parking lot to a rural lake. Look closely and you’ll find another surprise: the book is actually a cleverly-disguised Urban Outfitters catalogue. Danish streetwear brand Won Hundred, is the latest label to collaborate with retail store Urban Outfitters, this time on a line of denim. Creative Director Nikolaj Nielsen’s love for jeans has seen him heavily involved in a tight-knit relationship with denim for nearly 20 years, with roles at Diesel and Miss Sixty, prior to launching Won Hundred. Late last year, Nikolaj was approached by Urban Outfitters’ buying director to submit a jean both specific and exclusive to Urban Outfitters that would exemplify the philosophy and aesthetic of Won Hundred while incorporating the laidback Urban Outfitters look and feel.
The result is a pair of skinny jeans called the “Dean,” available in three simple washes: black, grey and “fresh blue.” Each pair features a classic, well-washed look, held together by a super durable yet super soft denim. They’re meant to be worn in and worn often, tucked into boots or over a pair of sneakers, or paired with a collared shirt and sweater for a casual night out.
The Won Hundred x Urban Outfitters collection is available now at Urban Outfitters UK. No word yet as to when it will hit stores Stateside.

Last week, we told you about Opening Ceremony’s new collection celebrating the release of the feature film adaptation of children’s book “Where the Wild Things Are.” But for those looking for a more straight-forward collection — think tees, tanks and dresses — Urban Outfitters has unveiled their own collection based on the upcoming movie. With input from the film’s director Spike Jonze and contributing artists, the collection is a wearable mix of screen-printed T-shirts for guys and gals and colorblock skirts and comfy jersey dresses. There are also some more adventurous pieces, like animal track-inspired leggings and a printed, kimono-like tunic.
Unlike Opening Ceremony’s collection, which is priced into the hundreds of dollars, this collection is a lot more affordable: starting at $24 for the T-shirts and topping out at $58 for a colorblock jumper. Urban Outfitters is also celebrating the movie with limited edition “Where the Wild Things Are” accessories, like keychains, notebooks and pillows. The entire collection is now available at most Urban Outfitters stores and online at urbanoutfitters.com. As for the “Wild Things” movie: that comes out on October 16th.
