If you’re not familiar with DecadesTwo, consider this your primer. An internationally-renowned retail/consignment shop based out of L.A., DecadesTwo is a prime destination for thrifty fashionistas hoping to score some pre-loved Hollywood looks. Co-owner Christos Garkinos scours the closets of celebrities and socialites to pull semi-exclusive pieces for the store, which carries both vintage labels as well as current, of-the-moment designers.
This weekend, the store comes to New York, with Kiki DeMontparnasse hosting the DecadesTwo pop-up shop at its SoHo locatioin. At a press preview last night, eager buyers hovered around a table full of Louboutins and Manolo Blahniks (every pair of shoes in the store will sell for $150 on the last day), while others went through racks of classic Chanel tweed and wool jackets, Philip Lim shift dresses, Rick Owens tees, and a stocked shelf full of jewelry, bags and accessories. There is also a specially-curated section for pieces by the late Alexander McQueen.
The shop will be replenished with new merchandise every day and, reportedly, a truck full of four hundred shoes will arrive Sunday afternoon. In other words, expect a line-up.
The DecadesTwo pop-up at Kiki de Montaparnasse is located at 79 Greene Street in SoHo. The shop is open 11am to 7pm tomorrow and Saturday, and 12pm to 5pm on Sunday. Happy hunting!
