“CONNECTIONS NY” – the annual tradeshow for the creative community, is back for another season in New York. Presented by our friends at Le Book, the event goes down next Wednesday, June 6th and Thursday, June 7th at 82 Mercer Street in SoHo.

CONNECTIONS is the place to find talent for campaigns, editorials, catalogues and other visual productions, while offering a chance to meet and mingle with high-end professionals in the creative industry (think creative directors, art directors, art buyers, image directors, marketing and communication executives, fashion editors and photo editors). The event also gathers, in one place, portfolios from the best photographers, illustrators and moving image artists, showcased by 50 top agencies from all over the world.

We’ve been attending CONNECTIONS for many years now and found it a valuable resource both for networking and for promotion. CONNECTIONS is a unique opportunity to view portfolios and reels, source new talent and services and meet with your creative peers. It’s basically like getting six months of work done in two days. In fact, Corduroy will once again have a booth at CONNECTIONS NY this season. Most importantly though, the event has provided us with a strong arena for developing relationships in the industry – something that’s often difficult to achieve in the fast-paced and fickle world of publishing and fashion. Because, after all the emails, phone calls and web research, it’s always nice to meet face to face.
