The Roots are set to drop their first album in more than two years next month. Titled “How I Got Over,” the LP features the band collaborating with guests as varied as Joanna Newsom, John Legend and Monsters Of Folk (Jim James, Mike Mogis, M.Ward and Conor Oberst). One of the first tracks leaked from the album (though not confirmed as the first single) is a remake of Monsters of Folk’s “Dear God 2.0.” — a poignant, mellow track that features the band rapping about the ills of society, while pleading with the Big Guy to do something about it.
