Wesley Hartwell is the creative director behind premium Australian men’s and women’s denim brand NOBODY — a line that recently celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. Started by Aussie brothers Nick and John Condilis in 1999, NOBODY sources premium Japanese denim from traditional mills using antique looms, before bringing the denim back to its own laundry for a detailed hand-treating and customizing process. The jeans are a staple for denim aficionados down under and they’re quickly making the list (and grade) here in North America as well.
Here is Hartwell’s top ELEVEN list of “things that never go out of style:”
1. Anything designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
2. Information… I’m such a junkie for what’s happening NOW. I want to know everything that’s happening and pick and chose and mix.
3. British actor David Niven — the epitome of the cool/gentleman/dude.

4. Honesty and integrity. Money can’t buy this.
5. Alvar Aalto’s 3 legged stool.

6. Overdressing. Always overdress some aspect of your outfit. Always accessorise with some statement piece.
7. Having your own opinion.
8. Aston Martin DB series, especially the DB5.

9. Gin Gimlets.
10. A pair of jeans made from Japanese Selvedge denim – either new and raw or a pair you have worn in yourself and have only ever washed inside out (infrequently). They are your fingerprint and signature.

11. Good quality paper and a wooden HB lead pencil.
