We told you about Chanel’s line of sporting goods a few months ago and now Italian label Tod’s is jumping on the surprising accessories bandwagon. This week, the label famous for its iconic driving loafers, introduced a set of fashion-forward helmets for motorcyclists. The helmets are made out of a soft, saddle-stitched vacchetta (cow) leather, available in black, white and orange, and they feature a microfiber lining, stainless steel clasps and flip-up plexiglass eye shields. Tod’s has reportedly spent a lot of time and money on these helmets, running them through a painstaking testing process to ensure their quality and durability. And don’t think the helmets are just for style either (though we can totally see the fashion mags using the helmets in their next shoot) — they’ve been designed to meet road-safety standards for motorcycle and Vespa riders alike. As for the price? Limited edition headwear from Tod’s doesn’t come cheap and these luxe helmets are no exception. They’ll run you $1000… each.
