We stopped by the headquarters of Swedish label Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair yesterday to get a sneak peek at their new Spring/Summer 2010 collection. Located in an old industrial building in Södermalm, the company occupies a huge space on the first floor, that serves as both their design studio, as well as showroom and office. We’ve been fans of the label for years (we even profiled them in our latest issue) and we weren’t disappointed in their new men’s and women’s offerings. The sharp, tailored clothing retains the simple aesthetic of previous years (only a few pieces ventured outside a basic black and grey palette) while adding subtle details like overlapping pockets, discreet buttons and conscious and delicate draping. Stand-outs included their new cropped men’s suit jacket (a slightly boxier cut than we remember in the past), a men’s white dress shirt with removable side vents and collar, and a gorgeous women’s overcoat made from an old Italian floral print. The company is also adding to their line of shoes and accessories (think lace-up black oxfords and knit ties) — perfect to complete the look. Check out some photos below and pick up Issue 5 of Corduroy to read our feature on designers Lee and Astrid from Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair.
