Just the other day, while strolling along Bloor Street in downtown Toronto, I was pleasantly surprised to see Felicity DVDs on sale for 20 bucks. As an avid fan — I may have dashed over to the Dean & Deluca near NYU on my first day in New York — I’ve missed seeing Keri Russell and co. on our screens both big and small. And I’m pretty sure more than a few of you have also lamented the recent lack of Scott Speedman in your lives.
Well your prayers have been answered. This fall, the Canadian-born Speedman will be starring in a new ad campaign for Banana Republic, along with other young-ish thespians like Lauren Ambrose, Krysten Ritter and model-turned-Gossip Girl “mean girl” Nicole Fiscella. The campaign highlights the brand’s signature white shirts, denim, chinos and trenchcoats in a more cinematic fashion, with the group appearing in print ads and a series of short films, shot by Richard Phibbs. The campaign was shot in New York, on the Lower East Side, with Banana Republic hoping for a more relaxed and “urban” grounding for its line of preppy, tailored basics.
