Opening Ceremony (is) Where the Wild Things Are

September 28th, 2009 | Published in Fashion, Film

Opening Ceremony is marking the release of Spike Jonze’s new movie, Where the Wild Things Are, with a limited-edition collection of merchandise inspired by the film adaptation of the beloved children’s book. The line features faux fur pieces for men and women, as well as Wild Things-inspired jewelry by Opening Ceremony favorite, Pamela Love. Still a little confused as to just how the fluffy wild animals in the storybook translate to fashion? Think playful and cozy hoodies, fur-lined bombers and parkas for men, and shawl jackets, fur coats and pouffy dresses for women. Then there’s Max’s iconic one-piece playsuit, which comes complete with furry-eared hood and raccoon tail.

The pieces don’t come cheap. Mini-skirts are the lowest-priced item in the collection at $220, while a limited edition fur-lined parka for men retails for $895. Check out the full collection at Opening Ceremony’s website and check out the trailer for Where the Wild Things Are below:
