We just got back from Vancouver where we couldn’t help but notice gaggles of girls in flirty dresses and wonderfully cozy, tailored jackets from local line lily+jae. Only three years old, the contemporary women’s line has already attracted an enviable following from some of our favorite stars, like Lily Allen and Lykke Li, and the collection is now sold in boutiques around the world (We even styled a recent Corduroy photoshoot with an amazing pair of lily+jae high-waisted trousers). But while the label is growing, it hasn’t forgotten its roots: all the pieces are still independently designed and manufactured in Vancouver.
Founder/designer Jude Feller was a former stylist for film and television before branching out and starting lily+jae. With our fashion curiosity sufficiently peaked, we knew we had to find out more about Feller’s inspirations, so we asked her to take part in our exclusive online series about “things that never go out of style.” She happily obliged and gave us her top ten list:
1. Stevie Nicks…I’ll never stop listening
2. White Wine
3. Siblings…family doesn’t go out

4. Vogue…it just won’t go out of style even if you want it to… it won’t
5. A black wool coat (like the one below from lily+jae)

6. A white singlet from baby size to grandpa size
7. Converse… If they would, they would go out now, but I bet they don’t
8. Suits for boys
9. Ambition of any sort
10. Gummy bears… Who doesn’t need a little sugar high around 2 pm?
