So far this spring we’ve had Alexander McQueen for Target, Adam Lippes for Mango, and Mary Ping/Paul&Joe/Charlotte Ronson/Samantha Pleet for Urban Outfitters, but try wrapping your head around the latest designer collaborations to be unveiled: Last week, Opening Ceremony (the clothing label) debuted at Uniqlo, as part of the store’s ongoing Designers Invitation Project (We checked out the pieces the other day and loved the colorful plaid shirts and cropped suit and pants look). Now the beloved Betsey Johnson has announced a collaboration with Opening Ceremony (the store). The capsule collection is titled “Betsey Johnson Archive,” and features key Betsey pieces like ruffled print dresses, cozy jackets and dramatic accessories. No word yet on prices. So to sum up: Betsey Johnson is collaborating with Opening Ceremony, who is collaborating with Uniqlo. Actually, that wasn’t too difficult was it?
