California-native Corinne Grassini is the founder and designer behind Society for Rational Dress — a contemporary women’s line based out of L.A. While the name gets its origins from a Victorian-era women’s group that fought to do away with constricting and deforming garments, Grassini’s line is much less staid. With skills honed from the prestigious Central Saint Martins design school in London and a youthful, whimsical aesthetic that combines ease and comfort with a modern flair, Grassini is proving there’s more to L.A. fashion than graphic tees and flip-flops.
As part of our weekly web exclusive series, we asked Grassini to give us her “Top Ten” list of “Things That Never Go Out of Style.”
1. Winter days at El Matador Beach

2. Treehouses
3. Hand written letters
4. Surprises
5. Burritos
6. Old white threadbare t shirts
7. Massive bear hugs
8. Can’s “Ege Bamyasi”

9. Coffee
10. Popping wheelies
(Grassini’s line is available at Barneys and Saks Fifth Avenue as well as select boutiques and online retailers. Find a complete stockist and check out the collection at societyforrationaldress.com)
