We seem to be seeing more and more of menswear label 3sixteen around New York and Toronto lately — and that’s not a bad thing at all. The line, which has gained a loyal following thanks to their structured outerwear, super-tough denim and cut-and-sew shirts, is now stocked in many of our favorite boutiques in Toronto. But we’ve also seen the name pop up in more unexpected ways around New York. For fall, the label teamed up with menswear blogger and artist Richard Haines for a wheatpaste campaign to showcase their new collection. Haines was commissioned to illustrate some of his favorite looks from the fall/winter ’09 line and the favorite sketch was then plastered on walls and alleyways across the city. The campaign is as eye-catching as it is original, and Haines’ unique point of view (and charming, colorful sketches) perfectly captures the fresh, urban and preppy vibe of the clothes.

This fall, 3sixteen is all about rugged street style meshed with clean and tailored basics; think toggle coats with quilted patches, button-down wool vests and cozy shirts and knits. The label is also unveiling its first accessories collaboration: a waxed canvas tote made in conjunction with Portland-based Tanner Goods. We’ve been eyeing it as a perfect carry-all for our magazines, laptop and everyday junk — and the perfect compliment for our fall wardrobe. Check out all the details (and an online shop) at 3sixteen.com.
