We profiled Toronto-based artist Scott Everingham in our very first issue of Corduroy and we always make it a point to stop by his gallery whenever we’re in town. This month, Everingham is taking over the Paul Petro Special Projects gallery on Queen Street, to present a solo exhibition of new paintings focused on the ideas of brokenness and utopian renewal. Everingham’s oil on canvas works create environments that are at once tangible and indeterminate, acting as modes of escape to fictional or alternative realities. He’s a storyteller engaging audiences through the language of paint and the tales are truly a stunning sight to behold.
Everingham’s show opens today, though the official reception is this Thursday, November 19th, from 6-8 pm at Paul Petro Special Projects, 962 Queen Street West in Toronto. Everingham will also be at the gallery on Saturday, November 21st and 28th. The exhibition runs until the end of the month. Find out more about the show and the artist at www.scotteveringham.com.
